Theory Overview

Extensive archaeological evidence discovered in Pokopia's Northern Ruins, Western Cliffs, and other areas suggests that this land was once part of the ancient Kanto region.

Through analysis of 16 key pieces of evidence, we can reconstruct a complete historical picture: approximately 200 years ago, a great catastrophe destroyed the thriving Kanto civilization, leaving only these scattered ruins for future generations to discover.

This page catalogs all archaeological evidence obtainable in-game, each with exact coordinates and in-game source citations.

Theory Summary

Based on the 16 pieces of archaeological evidence above, we can draw the following conclusions:

  • 1.Pokopia's ruined areas were once important cities of the ancient Kanto region, including Viridian City, Pewter City, Saffron City, and others.
  • 2.Approximately 200 years ago, a great catastrophe (possibly related to Cinnabar Island's volcanic eruption and Mewtwo experiments) destroyed this civilization.
  • 3.The ancient Kanto region possessed advanced technology (Silph Co.), a complete Gym system, and deep emotional bonds between humans and Pokémon.
  • 4.Lavender Town's Ghost-type research and Channeler traditions were partially preserved after the disaster, becoming a bridge connecting past and present.
  • 5.This evidence not only witnesses history but also serves as a warning for the future—the misuse of technology can lead to devastating consequences.
